LCDR Client accused of sexual offenses retained Steph to represent him. After very strategically navigating the situation, no adverse action was brought against the Client, and he continued his Navy career.
Sexual Misconduct Accusation
Steph represented a Navy Senior Chief accused of sexual misconduct. After an aggressive defense, the Client was allowed to deploy, and all accusations were dropped.
Sexual Harassment and Fraternization
Army officer accused of sexual harassment and fraternization with an enlisted member. After a strong investigation and GOMOR response, the GOMOR was locally filed. Client was promoted and his career continued.
Accused of Sexual Assault
Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant Client was accused of multiple acts of sexual assault. Steph worked extensively with the Client to prepare for an interview with NCIS. Steph then went with him to the interview to protect him from NCIS’s tactics. After providing his side of the story and Steph stopping NCIS from twisting his words, the command could see the truth. All allegations were dropped, and Client continued his career.
Toxic Work Environment Investigation
Client was O-6 accused of a toxic work environment. Steph represented them through the investigation, assisting with a statement, communicating with the General Officer who was the Investigating Officer, gathering evidence, and providing a legal memo. Ultimately, the Client was subject to no adverse action and was granted retirement.
Accused of Stalking and Domestic Violence
Client was a Navy Petty Officer First Class whose ex-girlfriend accused him of stalking and domestic violence. Steph’s independent investigation resulted in over 400 pages of texts, emails, and phone calls revealing Client was the real stalking victim and the ex-girlfriend had fabricated allegations to ruin his career. Client’s command cleared him of the allegations and allowed him to commission.
Negative Comments on DEOC Survey
Client was a LT who received multiple negative comments through a DEOC Survey. Steph’s representation helped the Client reveal that she was also subjected to a hostile working environment. The result was simply a record of counseling instead of any adverse action.
Personal Relationship With An Enlisted Subordinate
Client was an Army Lieutenant who had engaged in a personal relationship with an enlisted subordinate. Steph’s representation through the investigation revealed a litany of mitigating circumstances. The subsequent response to the GOMOR led the General to decide to file it locally.
Sexual Harassment Accusations
Army CPT Client’s ex-fiancée was using the Army’s SHARP reporting systems to get revenge on him after their breakup. She made accusations of sexual harassment. Steph gathered extensive evidence and witness statements that corroborated the Client’s side of the story and revealed her lies and manipulation. The Client was issued a GOMOR, but Steph’s lengthy and aggressive response caused the General to withdraw the GOMOR entirely. The Client’s career was saved.
Desertion Investigation
Client was an Army deserter who fled because he was being bullied and hazed by his immediate chain of command. It led him to be suicidal and go AWOL instead of the worst-case scenario. Steph interviewed witnesses and directly engaged with his Battalion Commander to explain the situation and facilitate face-to-face interactions that led to him being moved from his company, mentored by SNCOs who cared, and continuing his career in the Army.
