Negative Comments on DEOC Survey
Client was a LT who received multiple negative comments through a DEOC Survey. Steph’s representation helped the Client reveal that she was also subjected to a hostile working environment. The result was simply a record of counseling instead of any adverse action.
Sexual Assault Allegation
Steph represented a Petty Officer Third Class at his ADSEP Board for an allegation of sexual assault. Steph’s presentation of witnesses, analysis of the evidence, and compelling closing argument resulted in a finding of NO BASIS.
Staff Sergeant Court Martial
Abby’s Client was a Staff Sergeant charged in a general court-martial with child sexual abuse of his teenage stepdaughter and possession of child pornography. Abby’s litigation skills resulted in her Client being fully acquitted of all charges.
Drug Charge
Abby’s Client, a Petty Officer First Class, innocently ingested THC at a friend’s house. Client had been held at a schoolhouse for over 9 months pending the resolution of his ADSEP Board. Navy Chief Client accused of innocently ingesting a drug was found not guilty at NJP but was brought to an ADSEP board regardless, due to a change to the OPNAVINST. He was still facing an OTH and the loss of his 16-year career. Steph put on such a compelling case, the ADSEP Board found NO BASIS in only 10 minutes.
Violating COVID Protocols & Fraternization
Navy LT with 22 years of service pled guilty at NJP to violating COVID protocols and fraternization, among other offenses. Steph worked tirelessly to present a strong case at the Board of Inquiry because PERS was seeking an OTH with the loss of retirement. Not only was Client retained, but the BOI found NO BASIS for a charge he had pled guilty to at NJP.
Court Martial
Steph developed a remarkable rapport with an alleged sexual assault victim through respect and relating to her as a woman. During her testimony, she felt comfortable enough to tell Steph something she had never told the prosecutor before, which essentially amounted an admission that she consented to the alleged sexual acts. Client was found NOT GUILTY at a general court-martial.
Personal Relationship With An Enlisted Subordinate
Client was an Army Lieutenant who had engaged in a personal relationship with an enlisted subordinate. Steph’s representation through the investigation revealed a litany of mitigating circumstances. The subsequent response to the GOMOR led the General to decide to file it locally.

Navy Client was accused of severe child abuse. KMD’s representation at the Article 32 hearing resulted in all general court-martial charges being dropped and Client’s Navy career continuing.

Navy flyer retained Steph to represent him when he tested positive for cocaine with no apparent source of exposure. Steph refused to back down in the face of an unreasonable command. The ADSEP Board members were absolutely shocked to learn of the possible sources of innocent exposure. Members found NO BASIS and Client continued his Navy career.

Steph’s Client, a Navy Petty Officer First Class, tested positive for multiple controlled substances. After being convicted at a special court-martial, Steph crafted a compelling sentencing case. The judge sentenced him to no punishment.
Marine Court Martial
Marine Corps Client was accused of fraternization, larceny, and destruction of property. Steph aggressively represented her at the Article 32 hearing, resulting in all general court-martial charges being dismissed and her career continuing.
Drug Accusation
Client tested positive for THC. Abby’s thorough investigation, solid criticism of the command investigation failures, and compelling legal presentation resulted in the Client being found to have committed no misconduct. Client stayed in the Navy.
Army Court Martial
Steph’s Army Client spent over two and a half years falsely accused of alcohol-facilitated sexual assault in a general court-martial. He was held over 18 months past his ETS. Steph was extraordinarily aggressive in every aspect of the trial, leading to loss after loss for the prosecution until the government finally dismissed all charges.
Sexual Harassment Accusations
Army CPT Client’s ex-fiancée was using the Army’s SHARP reporting systems to get revenge on him after their breakup. She made accusations of sexual harassment. Steph gathered extensive evidence and witness statements that corroborated the Client’s side of the story and revealed her lies and manipulation. The Client was issued a GOMOR, but Steph’s lengthy and aggressive response caused the General to withdraw the GOMOR entirely. The Client’s career was saved.
Marine Corps Court Martial
Client was a Marine Corps drill instructor accused of sexually assaulting a fellow DI. Steph expertly defended Client in a general court-martial where he was found NOT GUILTY of all charges. The senior officer of the panel told Steph, “If I didn’t know better, I would have thought you were a prior service Marine.”
Desertion Investigation
Client was an Army deserter who fled because he was being bullied and hazed by his immediate chain of command. It led him to be suicidal and go AWOL instead of the worst-case scenario. Steph interviewed witnesses and directly engaged with his Battalion Commander to explain the situation and facilitate face-to-face interactions that led to him being moved from his company, mentored by SNCOs who cared, and continuing his career in the Army.

After only 6 minutes of deliberation, he was fully exonerated by the ADSEP Board. Steph attended his promotion to CWO a few weeks later.
