Sexual Misconduct Accusation
Steph represented a Navy Senior Chief accused of sexual misconduct. After an aggressive defense, the Client was allowed to deploy, and all accusations were dropped.
Sexual Harassment and Fraternization
Army officer accused of sexual harassment and fraternization with an enlisted member. After a strong investigation and GOMOR response, the GOMOR was locally filed. Client was promoted and his career continued.
DUI Arrest
LCDR Client was arrested for a high BAC DUI with a junior Sailor in the vehicle. Steph dug deep into the issues surrounding the Client’s combat-related PTSD and put together an extremely compelling case in mitigation. Steph avoided a Show Cause action for administrative separation and the Client was allowed to separate Honorably.
Positive THC Drug Test
Client suffered from severe mental health issues and tested positive for THC. Steph advocated extensively for him, resulting in him receiving an Honorable discharge at his EAOS.
Hostile Work Environment
Warrant Officer Client was the subject of a command investigation for a hostile work environment. Steph represented her at NJP, where Client was found not guilty of all the charges to which she pled not guilty. Steph’s representation avoided an administrative separation show cause action.
Tested Positive for THC
Marine Corps Sergeant tested positive for THC after accidentally eating his civilian wife’s legally purchased THC chocolates. Steph represented him at NJP, which was conducted in violation of his rights and resulted in a finding of guilty. Steph’s aggressive appeal caused the Commanding General to overturn the Battalion CO’s findings. Steph attended the second nonjudicial punishment hearing and all charges were dismissed.
Hazing & Bullying Accusations
Marine Corps former Drill Instructor was accused of hazing and bullying after he returned to the Fleet and held junior Marines to standards. Steph’s case preparation revealed the lies and inconsistencies among the junior Marines. Steph’s aggressive cross-examination of the Commanding Officer revealed toxic leadership and numerous processing flaws in the case. Client was retained in the Marine Corps.
Accused of Sexual Assault
Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant Client was accused of multiple acts of sexual assault. Steph worked extensively with the Client to prepare for an interview with NCIS. Steph then went with him to the interview to protect him from NCIS’s tactics. After providing his side of the story and Steph stopping NCIS from twisting his words, the command could see the truth. All allegations were dropped, and Client continued his career.
Toxic Work Environment Investigation
Client was O-6 accused of a toxic work environment. Steph represented them through the investigation, assisting with a statement, communicating with the General Officer who was the Investigating Officer, gathering evidence, and providing a legal memo. Ultimately, the Client was subject to no adverse action and was granted retirement.
Dereliction of Duty Accusation
Abby’s Client was a Petty Officer Third Class investigated for dereliction of duty and false official statements, which resulted in DRB/XOI proceedings. Abby’s representation led to the case being dismissed at XOI.
Cocaine Use Accusation
Steph’s Navy Chief Client was accused of using cocaine. He was given a cigarette that was laced with cocaine without his knowledge. His ship’s Commanding Officer extensively violated his rights during his nonjudicial punishment proceedings, which Steph had attended. Steph’s aggressive appeal led to Client’s NJP being overturned and a finding of NOT GUILTY at Commodore’s Mast.
Drug Accusation
Navy Client shared a vape with a stranger the weekend before checking into his command. Steph’s persuasive presentation of the response to the ADSEP Notification resulted in Client continuing his Navy career.

Navy Client innocently ingested THC at a graduation party with civilians who brought cannabis-laced foods. Steph’s compelling case resulted in a finding of NO BASIS even though Client couldn’t identify exactly how he ingested the THC.
Mental Health Discharge
Navy Client was going to be separated for simply seeking mental health treatment. The ship wasn’t giving him the treatment he deserved, so he went off-ship for treatment. The ship retaliated and began processing him for a mental health discharge. Steph pulled out all the stops with the response, and the CO withdrew the ADSEP and returned the Sailor to the ship.
Drug Accusation
Navy Client was the victim of severe Military Sexual Trauma, and several commands subsequently mistreated her. She was in the process of being medically retired for MST-related PTSD and used cannabis to alleviate her suicidal intentions. Her command attempted to override the medical board and separate her with a general discharge characterization. One day after Steph’s legally sound, aggressive response to the ADSEP notification, the command withdrew the notification and allowed her to retire.
Drug Accusation
Client was a Navy Petty Officer First Class who was given cannabis by his personal trainer without his knowledge, resulting in a positive urinalysis. Steph represented him at the ADSEP Board and put on such a compelling case that the members returned a finding of NO BASIS in 10 minutes.
Accused of Stalking and Domestic Violence
Client was a Navy Petty Officer First Class whose ex-girlfriend accused him of stalking and domestic violence. Steph’s independent investigation resulted in over 400 pages of texts, emails, and phone calls revealing Client was the real stalking victim and the ex-girlfriend had fabricated allegations to ruin his career. Client’s command cleared him of the allegations and allowed him to commission.
Air Force Court Martial
Client was accused at a general court-martial of a range of sex offenses that could have resulted in life in prison, including forcible rape. Steph and Abby defended him over the course of 2 years, never backing down from the many obstacles they faced. He was fully acquitted of all charges: NOT GUILTY. Steph and Abby were honored to attend his Air Force retirement ceremony.
Air Force Court Martial
Steph’s skill in developing cross-examination and collaborating with experts, including forensic psychologists, in alcohol-facilitated sexual assault cases proved essential in defending an Air Force Client against a “drunk sex” allegation in a general court-martial. Client was fully acquitted of all charges: NOT GUILTY.
Solicitation
Steph represented Client through a CMEO investigation for solicitation of sex from a civilian employee and showing her a video of himself engaging in sexual intercourse. Client turned down nonjudicial punishment and was taken to an ADSEP Board. Steph’s extensive case in mitigation resulted in a general discharge, and the Client was thrilled with the result.
Cheating on the E-7 exam
Client was taken to nonjudicial punishment for cheating on the E-7 exam. She would have turned down the NJP if she could have because she was not guilty, but she was attached to a ship and had no choice. Her CO ignored her statement and evidence and found her guilty, then sent her to an ADSEP Board for an OTH. Steph put together such a compelling case, the board members found NO BASIS and exonerated…
Sexual Assault Allegation
Client was a Petty Officer Second Class who was taken to an ADSEP Board for an allegation of sexual assault. Steph cross-examined the complainant so convincingly that the ADSEP Board quickly returned with a finding of NO BASIS.
Drug Accusation
Navy Petty Officer First Class Client was an introvert who made a rare choice to go out with his friends to a crowded bar. He left his drink unattended while he went to the bathroom. When he tested positive for cocaine, he was shocked, confused, and scared. Steph’s compassion, guidance, and unrelenting advocacy resulted in a unanimous finding of NO BASIS.
Leaving The Scene of an Accident & Lying
Steph represented a USMC Gunnery Sergeant who received NJP for leaving the scene of an accident and lying about his location. Steph presented an extraordinarily compelling case for him to receive a 6105 instead of an NJP. The CO agreed and dismissed the nonjudicial punishment action.
